In a significant development for Australian small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), BizCover has announced the addition of Zurich's Professional Indemnity (PI) insurance product to its online platform, effective from 3 March 2026.
This collaboration aims to provide SMEs with enhanced access to comprehensive PI coverage, addressing a critical need in the business community.

BizCover, renowned for its user-friendly online insurance services, has partnered with Zurich Australian Insurance Limited to offer PI insurance with coverage limits of up to $10 million. This initiative is tailored for SMEs with annual revenues below $7.5 million, ensuring that a broad spectrum of businesses can benefit from this offering.

Michael Gottlieb, CEO of BizCover, emphasized the significance of this partnership, stating, "Working with an insurer of Zurich's scale and reputation underlines our focus on delivering a high-quality customer experience built on trust, clarity, and confidence in the cover being purchased."

The Zurich PI insurance product available through BizCover includes several key features:

  • Maximum coverage limits up to $10 million.
  • Retroactive cover, subject to prior agreement.
  • Protection for claims made globally, excluding North America.
  • Legal defense costs in the event of a claim.

Alex Morgan, Head of General Insurance at Zurich, highlighted the company's commitment to supporting professional services businesses. "Through this new distribution agreement with BizCover, more Australian SMEs will be able to access insurance quickly and easily, so they can continue to focus on what they do best," Morgan stated.

This partnership reflects a growing trend in the insurance industry towards digitalization and streamlined services, particularly for SMEs seeking efficient and reliable insurance solutions. By integrating Zurich's PI insurance into its platform, BizCover continues to enhance its offerings, providing SMEs with the tools they need to manage risk effectively.

For SMEs, this development offers a valuable opportunity to secure robust PI coverage through a trusted platform, ensuring protection against potential claims of professional negligence or mistakes. As the business landscape evolves, such collaborations between insurers and digital platforms are likely to become increasingly prevalent, offering businesses more accessible and tailored insurance solutions.
